This Central Intelligence Agency file, dated 29 September 1975, collects Office of Security memoranda written while the Senate Select Committee was investigating the Agency. Staff were told to alert former employees about possible committee contact over Project MERRIMAC/RESISTANCE, and the file answers committee questions about Hayes International and Bay of Pigs pilots. It also records staff interviews about CIA name checks at NSA and a Justice Department request for records on domestic electronic surveillance. It contains no material on UFOs.

...., fiffififi is 2 June 1975 MEMORANDUM FOR: Director of Security SUBJECT : Alias Driver's License — E. Howard Hunt OS #23500 1. This memorandum is for information in response to your inquiry concerning the issuance of alias driver's licenses to former Agency staff employee Mr. E. Howard Hun t . 2. A review of Mr. Hunt's Security file fails to reflect any information which would indicate he had been furnished alias documentation subsequent to his retirement from this Agency in April 1970. 3. Mr. Hunt's file reflects that while employed by the Central Intelligence Agency he utilized two (2) aliases These were: "Hugh W. Newstead" which was assigned for use with a Post Office Box on 9 December 1949, cancelled l2 November 1953, reactivated 4 March 1954 and retiredl cancelled on 30 April 1970. The second alias "Edward J. Hamilton" was assigned 20 September 1960 and retired/ cancelled 30 April 1970. 4. The file contained several memoranda which reflected the results of checks made of both Office of Technical Service and Office of Security records relative to the issuance of alias documentation to Mr. Hunt. The OTS records apparently indicated that alias documents, type not identified, were issued to one "Hamilton" on two occasions during the period 1957-1964. The memoranda further indicated that information had been developed from Security records which reflected that Mr. Hunt was to have been issued a non-backsto ed Massachusetts Driver's License with a Providence, Rhode Island address, together with a Social Security Card and insurance policy, also non-backstopped.
