This Central Intelligence Agency file, dated 29 September 1975, collects Office of Security memoranda written while the Senate Select Committee was investigating the Agency. Staff were told to alert former employees about possible committee contact over Project MERRIMAC/RESISTANCE, and the file answers committee questions about Hayes International and Bay of Pigs pilots. It also records staff interviews about CIA name checks at NSA and a Justice Department request for records on domestic electronic surveillance. It contains no material on UFOs.

Dear Mr. Warner:
In connection with this Division's review of the
Rockefeller Commission's findings concerning CIA involvement
in electronic surveillance activities, please provide this
office with copies of all memoranda, correspondence, minutes,
files and records reflecting the authorization and implementa-
tion of domestic interceptions involved in the following:
l. Office of Security File # 40287 (October 20, 1971).
A2. Monitoring of telephone conversations and other communi-
cations by Directorate of Operations in an effort to ~
identify foreign drug traffickers. (Report by Commission
on CIA Activities, pp, 27, 222-224),
3. Operation of Commo's Special Programs Division involving
hearability tests of commercial telephone circuits
between the United States and South America, and the
subsequent determination by OGC that such tests were
illegal. ("Family Jewels").
4. Project Longshaft ("Family Jewels").
5. Project Ironclad ("Development and Testing of
Intelligence Related Equipment", Tab l).
