This Central Intelligence Agency file, dated 29 September 1975, collects Office of Security memoranda written while the Senate Select Committee was investigating the Agency. Staff were told to alert former employees about possible committee contact over Project MERRIMAC/RESISTANCE, and the file answers committee questions about Hayes International and Bay of Pigs pilots. It also records staff interviews about CIA name checks at NSA and a Justice Department request for records on domestic electronic surveillance. It contains no material on UFOs.

ASUBJECJT: Interview of Mr. Edmund Klipa l. Mr. Edmund Klipa, who is to be interviewed by you in the presence of an Office of Security employee on 13 April 1976, is a former employee of this Agency. s A 2. It is understood that Mr. Klipa is to be interviewed as a pro- spective witness and not as a. defendant and that he will notbe given the so-called “Miranda warning." Also, it is understood that the IRS investigator involved will limit the scope of his inquiry to those questions which relate directly to investigating the disclosure of certain taxpayer information. _ 3. If during the interview Mr. Klipa is asked questions, the answers to which reveal classified information, any notes taken by you during the interview should be classified by you or an official of the IRS at the level indicated by CIA (Secret) . Any statements subsequently prepared by you for execzution by Mr. Klipa in affidavit form will also be reviewed and classified. Such notes and statements are subject to the provisions of _ ' paragraph VI.D, National Security Council Directive Governing the Classifica- tion, Downgrading, Declassification, and Safeguarding of National Security Information, May l7, 1972.
