This Central Intelligence Agency file, dated 29 September 1975, collects Office of Security memoranda written while the Senate Select Committee was investigating the Agency. Staff were told to alert former employees about possible committee contact over Project MERRIMAC/RESISTANCE, and the file answers committee questions about Hayes International and Bay of Pigs pilots. It also records staff interviews about CIA name checks at NSA and a Justice Department request for records on domestic electronic surveillance. It contains no material on UFOs.

served from 4 June 1962 until 5.August 1963 as the Assistant
Director for Scientific Intelligence, then an office within the
‘Directorate of Intelligence. While in this position he also
served as Chairman of the Guided Missiles and Astronautics
Intelligence Committee of the U. S. Intelligence Board. From
5 August 1963 until 23 September 1966, Dr. Wheelon was Deputy ,
Director for Science and Technology. Upon leaving the Agency '
in 1966 he became a Vice President for Engineering of Hughes
Aircraft. Since that time he has become Senior Group Executive
in charge of Hughes work in the space field. 'Prior to coming
to the Agency Dr. Wheelon had not been associated with Hughes '
Aircraft. After joining Hughes, he continued with the Agency.

with Hughes until 1971. Robert Maheu was also a long~time Z

Maheu Associates). Peter Maheu left the Agency in 1964. Peter
Maheu currently works for his father.
