This Central Intelligence Agency file, dated 29 September 1975, collects Office of Security memoranda written while the Senate Select Committee was investigating the Agency. Staff were told to alert former employees about possible committee contact over Project MERRIMAC/RESISTANCE, and the file answers committee questions about Hayes International and Bay of Pigs pilots. It also records staff interviews about CIA name checks at NSA and a Justice Department request for records on domestic electronic surveillance. It contains no material on UFOs.
\ . e 26 September 1975 MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director of Security (PSI) VIA : Chief, Security Analysis Group SUBJECT ; George c. Wallace - Ramsey Clark l. Reference is§made to your verbal request to the Chief, Security Analysis Gropp, that a search of the Office of Security indices be conducted to determine if National Security Agency (NSA) checks were ever conducted on the above subjects. 2. A search of the Office of Security indices failed to disclose any subject file in the name of George C. Wallace, present Governor of Alabama. 3. The Office of Security does maintain a subject file relating to Ramsey Clark (SF#449 197), the former U.S. Attorney General. Cited file does not contain any indication that the Office of Security had conducted an NSA check on Mr. Clark. The file reflects that Mrl Clark, by virtue of his position as Assistant Attorney Gegeral, was approved for liaison with the Agency through "Top S cret" in March 1961. In 1966 when Mr. Clark became the .8. Attorney General, he was also cleared for "Sl, TKH, and Byeman Special." In connection with Mr. Clark’s special ciearances, the Office of Security did review the file maint ined on Mr. Clark in the White House. There are no indicati ns, however, that the Office of Security had conducted an inve tigation concerning Mr. Clark, and his file consists primari*y of newspaper and/or magazine articles.
