This Central Intelligence Agency file, dated 29 September 1975, collects Office of Security memoranda written while the Senate Select Committee was investigating the Agency. Staff were told to alert former employees about possible committee contact over Project MERRIMAC/RESISTANCE, and the file answers committee questions about Hayes International and Bay of Pigs pilots. It also records staff interviews about CIA name checks at NSA and a Justice Department request for records on domestic electronic surveillance. It contains no material on UFOs.

certain, that being the meeting involving the Director will -
surely alert BRANDY to this Agency's interest into, at least, J

cornprehensive inforrnation as to BRANDY's conceréifto the
Agency's incursion into his professional or personal operations,

6. In conjungétiopawitli the BRANDY coverage, it is '

7. In view of the Director's coricern over the proposecl
BRANDY book, SUGAR coverage should be predicated on obtaining
any i1lfOI‘;i‘11al2iO11 relating to the possible collaborator or publisher
of this work. It is thought that the Centralpoint for this segment
of _BRAl\IDY's activity may be in NewLYork\CIty and, at such times
he may travel to that location, it is hoped that a suificient nmnber
of the SUGAR team rnombers be able to accoxnpany him on such
journeys. Arrangements have already been made with NYFO to
render support to the applicable WFO SUGAR tearn members who
rnay be required to conduct operations in the New York City area.
