This Central Intelligence Agency file, dated 29 September 1975, collects Office of Security memoranda written while the Senate Select Committee was investigating the Agency. Staff were told to alert former employees about possible committee contact over Project MERRIMAC/RESISTANCE, and the file answers committee questions about Hayes International and Bay of Pigs pilots. It also records staff interviews about CIA name checks at NSA and a Justice Department request for records on domestic electronic surveillance. It contains no material on UFOs.

Dear Mr, Sprague: -
This letter states the Agency's understanding of the arrange-
ments which have been made between the Agency and Itek Corporation
involving General Personnel Investigations, Inc. (GPII). We have -
specific reference to our discussions and agreement with you con-
cerning the passing of money from the Agency to GPII through Itek.
The Agency has desired for some time to effect an arrangement
with Itek whereby ostensible contractual relations could be established
between ltek and GPII to facilitate the passage of Agency money into
CSPII from Itek. Consequently, we have requested that ostensible con-
tracts or work orders be executed and funds as agreed be passed from
Itek Corporation to GPII. Suoh funds will be deposited with Itek by
means of a U. S. Treasury check on a. quarterly basis and Itek will pay
out the funds to GPII according to monthly billings. It is understood
that Itelc does not require any fee or charge for its cooperation in this
matter. ~
The purpose of this arrangement is to assist the Agency in the
performance of certain of its tasks in the interests of the national -
'
security of the United States. The ostensible contractual arrangements
between Itek Corporation and GPII are acknowledged to be of no force V
and effect and the true parties in interest are the U. S. Govermnent, as
