This Central Intelligence Agency file, dated 29 September 1975, collects Office of Security memoranda written while the Senate Select Committee was investigating the Agency. Staff were told to alert former employees about possible committee contact over Project MERRIMAC/RESISTANCE, and the file answers committee questions about Hayes International and Bay of Pigs pilots. It also records staff interviews about CIA name checks at NSA and a Justice Department request for records on domestic electronic surveillance. It contains no material on UFOs.

SUBJECT : Ralph Q. True
Conxact by Intarnal Revenue Service
1. Mr. Ralph True, former Office sf Security employee,
nontacted Mr. Bah Gambina regarding a cantact he had had
from an Agent cf the Internal Revenue Service. He indicated
that sumetime ago Mr. Walter Ranrke sf IRS had cantacted
him regarding certain cases whereby the Gffice of Sacurity
had obtained IRS recards in cunnection with investigative
cases. These cases were noted in the Ruckefeller €ommissien
Report and information furnished to 1R5 by the Agency indi-
cated that Mr. True had obtained some of this information
frwm IRS. fir. Rnurke was seeking details concerning these
cuntacts {ram Mr. True.
2. His first contact with Mr. True was in ahaut mi&-
June. More recently he contacted Mr. True for more datails
indicating that he had sworn testimony that Mr. True had
soma haw been involved in obtaining information from IRS
concerning Victer Marahetti. Mr. True could not recall any
af these incidents anfl on 36 July 1975 he came ta my office
requesting assistance in determiningg whether he had ever
been invalved in ahtaining IRS informatian in connaction with
Victer Marchetti.
3. Mr. Gambino and the undersigneé talked to Mr. True
for some time. Mr. True inaicated that he wanted to assist
IRS if at all pussible but he cauld not remamber whsther ha
haé bven involved in a case with IRS uancerning Victor Harchetti,
nor cauld he recali any infnrmaticn ethar than that already
furnished IR5 in connection with any inquiries at IRS. Me
suggested that perhaps a review of the files have in the Agency
might assist him in refreshing his memory.
