This Central Intelligence Agency file, dated 29 September 1975, collects Office of Security memoranda written while the Senate Select Committee was investigating the Agency. Staff were told to alert former employees about possible committee contact over Project MERRIMAC/RESISTANCE, and the file answers committee questions about Hayes International and Bay of Pigs pilots. It also records staff interviews about CIA name checks at NSA and a Justice Department request for records on domestic electronic surveillance. It contains no material on UFOs.

22 September 1975 MEMORANDUM FOR: Deputy Director of Security (PSI) VIA : Chief, Security Analysis Group SUBJECT : Senate Select Committee Request (Liaison With Internal Revenue Service) 1. Reference is made to the attached request from the Senate Select Committee (Review Staff 75/2962), which concerns the Agency's relationship with the Internal Revenue Service. 2. On this date the undersigned discussed this request with Mr. Edward Ryan, DDA Coordinator, who advised that the Office of Security need take no action pertaining to this request. Mr. Ryan said that the entire request is being handled by the DDO and/or the Office of General Counsel. 3. In view of the above, the attached is being returned for your files relating to the Senate Select Committee in- quiries.
