This Central Intelligence Agency file, dated 29 September 1975, collects Office of Security memoranda written while the Senate Select Committee was investigating the Agency. Staff were told to alert former employees about possible committee contact over Project MERRIMAC/RESISTANCE, and the file answers committee questions about Hayes International and Bay of Pigs pilots. It also records staff interviews about CIA name checks at NSA and a Justice Department request for records on domestic electronic surveillance. It contains no material on UFOs.

a retired Office of Security enployea, had heen made aware
of or involved in any portivn cf the Victor TarChfitti case.

Gur Qriginal respcnse to you on 17 June 1275 indicated
that Wt. Ralph True might passibly have arranied fer the
review of fir. Rarchetti's tax records. This iaformation,
however, was based on the erroneous assumption that fir. True
occupieé the pnsitiun ef Chi@§, Special Activities aivision
in April 1932, combined with Hr. True’s previous liaison
rclaticnship with the Internal Revenue Service. Further
research indicates tfiat the Special Activities yivision was
disbanded in January 1970, at which time *r. True became
Chief, Investigation Division, within the Office of Security,
.where he serveé until his ratirement in June }fi72. As Chiaf,
Investigaticn bivisicn, Hr. Truc‘s duties wmuld have con—
cerned routine c1earance—type invcstigatians find would not
