This Central Intelligence Agency file, dated 29 September 1975, collects Office of Security memoranda written while the Senate Select Committee was investigating the Agency. Staff were told to alert former employees about possible committee contact over Project MERRIMAC/RESISTANCE, and the file answers committee questions about Hayes International and Bay of Pigs pilots. It also records staff interviews about CIA name checks at NSA and a Justice Department request for records on domestic electronic surveillance. It contains no material on UFOs.

On 30 September 1975 Mr. John P. Dempsey, Review Staff,presented the Office of Security with a copy of Attachment A,advising that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) wants torelease Attachment A to the Senate Select Committee during openhearings on 30 September 1975. The phrase "This disclosure"in the first line of Attachment A refers to IRS disclosure offederal income tax information on certain personalities to CIA. 2. The items specified in Attachment A as paragraphs "A" and "B" are almost verbatim extracts (insignificant variations)from page 2 of a memorandum from Charles W. Kane, Director ofSecurity, to the IRS, dated 17 June 1975, a copy of which isAttachment B to instant memorandum. 3. The Office of Security does not interpose an objectionto the release of Attachment A to the Senate Select Committee. R6bert .
