This Central Intelligence Agency file, dated 29 September 1975, collects Office of Security memoranda written while the Senate Select Committee was investigating the Agency. Staff were told to alert former employees about possible committee contact over Project MERRIMAC/RESISTANCE, and the file answers committee questions about Hayes International and Bay of Pigs pilots. It also records staff interviews about CIA name checks at NSA and a Justice Department request for records on domestic electronic surveillance. It contains no material on UFOs.

Dear Mr. Rourke:
Pursuant to our convorsatiooo on 13 June 1975, the
following information is pyovioci in regard to those
instances whore the Central Intolzigenco Agency's Office
of Security has obtained federal flax information from the
Internal Revenue Service.
Attached hereto as Tabs A through K are copies of the
pertinent portions of Office of Soourity investigative
reports andfor memoranda, which oovtain to each of those
instances whore IRS information hao been obtained. However

Further, there is a discrepancy in the number of
cases where the Agency has received federal tax informa-
tion concerning an individual or firm as indicated in
the report prepared by the Presiiootial Commission to
Investigate the Central Intelligence Agency. Due to a
typographical error on a'summary chart provided by the
Agency to the Presidential Commiosion, which numerically
listed the entire spectrum of cosos of "Alleged Illegal
Domestic Activities,“ two cases_woro listed on the chart
as "IRS reviews,“ when in fact they should have been
listod under the "mail covers" section of that chart. 4
As a result, there are actually only fourteen (14) instances,
as opposed to the sixteen (16) rmportod by the Presidential
Commission. In addition, fiho foortoen IRS reviews occurred
