This is a weekly Central Intelligence Agency Information Review and Release newsletter for 28 April to 2 May 2003, released in 2019. It reports that CIA won a FOIA lawsuit brought by Inna Livshits and summarizes several FOIA requests. One came from a Woodland, California student asking about the alleged Roswell UFO crash, Majestic 12 and Area 51. CIA replied that it has no information on Roswell and found no Majestic 12 records, and it neither confirms nor denies that Area 51 exists.

With regard to the picture of George Tenet, the student. was asked to contact the CIA ’s Public Ajfairs Stafif Washington, DC 20505. Also, the student will receive a copy of an article from the Studies in Intelligence, Summer I997, by Gerald Haines, titled "CIA 3" Role in the Study of UFOs, I 94 7-90. " (U//A-I-H-9) State Department Coordinates with CIA the Release of History of the INR (U//A‘I‘U'9)- A requester from Arlington, Virginia asked the Department of State for the release of a document he described as "a history of the Bureau of Intelligence and Research written in approximately 1981 by Martin Packman." State found a responsive document, which it is coordinating with the CIA for a concunence with State's proposed treatment. . (b)(5) (b)(3) x 0 Because the document was originated by the Department of State, and State has requested that CIA return it to them after our review, the case is termed a "coordination." If State had sent us documents fiom their files that were originated by CIA, the case would be a "referral, "and the CIA would treat the documents and respond to the requester directly. (U7'#rI-U-Q). State Department Refers CIA Documents Responsive to Washington Post Request (U//Arl-HGT The Washington Post asked the Department of State for records "concerning countries stricken by recent financial crises." State found three responsive documents in their files that had been originated by the CIA, and referred them to CIA for review. _ (b)(3 (b)(5) (b)(3) (b)(3) (b)(5) (U//AI-Ll.Q.)e_Requester from MIT Asks for Information on Saddam's Son-in-law (U//AI-U-Q)-A requester from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, seeks a "Biography, personal history, personality profile, and psychological assessment of Husayn Kamil, Saddam Husayn's former son-in-law and head of Iraq's military industries, who defected to Jordan in August 1995." (U//AI-U-0_)_Italian Student Asks About PBSUCCESS (U//A4-U-Q} An Italian student at the University of Turin who is writing a masters thesis on "PBSUCCESS," submitted several questions regarding a previously released document titled "The Sherwood Tapes." I The FOIA case manager canceled the re uest because the requester did not supply either a return mailing address or a telephone number.
