This Central Intelligence Agency personality file on Soviet official Nikolay Sergeyevich Leonov (201-132139), with material dated 1953 to 1963, compiles cables, FBI documents, surveillance reports, press photos and passport copies. It records his Soviet Embassy service in Mexico City, the finding of his calling card in Fidel Castro's address book in 1956, and his role as Castro's interpreter in the USSR in 1963. A source identified him as a KGB officer, and a DIA item alleged he was planning Latin American insurgency.

and his wife, MAKOVIN and wife, RAKIZOV and wife, BIKOV and wife, and GELPANOV, he was not certain about GELP. KOV's wife, who had a one-month old baby at home.

10. An appointment was made for HIKOPORETS to see SUDC7AL at 12:00 on 24 September. HIKOPORETS also wanted to see Corandante OROZOO but the latter had not yet returned from Tavaulipas.

11. On 24 September KALLIIN informed Ricardo RAIOS Flores, then Amy 0-2, of the proposal of the Ambassador for this meeting on 29 September. RAIOS Flores agreed to inform the appropriate persons.

12. On 27 October ROSCHL took a message for REMIZOV that (Lt. Jesus) RUZO Reguero of Conision Inspectora had to go out of town and could not meet with REMIZOV that day.

13. On 28 September Yuriy Alekseyevich Cialpykov talked to Col. RAHOS Flores and asked if General Tomas SAICHEZ Hernandez were coming to the reception at the Embassy the following day. However RAHOS had left for Toluca and Tenancingo, and Col. Eduardo SOBRLIO Quintero, Chief of Staff, Air Force, would attend alone, as his wife was ill. In all, four persons with wives would attend and SAICHEZ withdrew his wife. RAHOS Flores mentioned that (Col.) Rosendo LSPAPZA Arias would be taking his place on the first of January, and asked if they would like for him to invite LSPAPZA also. However, CIALPYOV apparently did not understand, and they decided only on those mentioned previously.

20. On 29 September KOSCHIN contacted Lt. Biguel LOSADA of the Second Section of the Navy and asked why they hadn't sent for any motion pictures. LOSADA answered that the projector had been out of order for about a month, and was being fixed at Casa Steele. KOSCHIN said that they had some new pictures, and that EALTANAZ should let them know when they wanted some.
