This Central Intelligence Agency personality file on Soviet official Nikolay Sergeyevich Leonov (201-132139), with material dated 1953 to 1963, compiles cables, FBI documents, surveillance reports, press photos and passport copies. It records his Soviet Embassy service in Mexico City, the finding of his calling card in Fidel Castro's address book in 1956, and his role as Castro's interpreter in the USSR in 1963. A source identified him as a KGB officer, and a DIA item alleged he was planning Latin American insurgency.

On 30 October 1927 DV contacted Jose Alfredo Dugn (see iii-2117)

Yuriy H. FAPO107, cultural attache, and his wife, were invited on behalf of Diego Rubio to a cocktail party begin given on 5 November by Silvia Lal to show the portrait KIVAPA had painted of her. The party was to be held at Avenida de los Fuentes 629, Jardines del Pedregal. FAPO107 indicated he still had no fixed address, but would send out address cards when he found a permanent place of residence. (Correspondent: KIVAPA is a movie actress.)

6. On 20 October 1827 contacted Carlos Cañon of the Asociacion Nacional de Importadores y Importadores de la Republica mexicana, I Isabel la Catolica 38, and informed that the Ambassador would like to postone their dinner to 25 October.

7. One Luis Julio was arranged to visit P.A.F.O.H.O.V at the embassy on 26 October.

4. On 3 October the name of Leonid I. SCHLIDT, Commercial Counselor, visited Dr. Walter SQH-Duill, a dentist with offices st.J. Loran 12, to have her teeth cleaned.

B. During October members of the Soviet Embassy were in contact with (irs) Mercedes Pair of Tokyo 5, a seatstress.

C. On 22 October albert alvarde, attach, ordered a tank of oxygen from 11-31-74, Universidad Nuestra de Oxygeno. They promised to send him the note for renting the other tanks. (In the 1956 Mexico City telephone directory this number is listed under the name of (pr. Guillermo de Olico, Plaza Marvalle 3-4, and also under Oxygeno Para Enfeites at the same address.)

D. Also on 22 October 1829 contacted Juan DLZ Rodriguez, extinguidores, Koctezuma 246, and asked that they send mechanics to check and recharge the fifteen or sixteen extinguisher at the Embassy.

K. Aleksey D. MAYESKY, Assistant Commercial Officer, contacted Dr.orge SAFIRA MILLAN, well-known doctor with offices at articulo 123 p116, on 25 October concerning some x-ray treatments for his heart.
