This Central Intelligence Agency personality file on Soviet official Nikolay Sergeyevich Leonov (201-132139), with material dated 1953 to 1963, compiles cables, FBI documents, surveillance reports, press photos and passport copies. It records his Soviet Embassy service in Mexico City, the finding of his calling card in Fidel Castro's address book in 1956, and his role as Castro's interpreter in the USSR in 1963. A source identified him as a KGB officer, and a DIA item alleged he was planning Latin American insurgency.

I will arrange it for you. Mexico Tacuba 598. En. Diaz! It is our trust RIVARA and KOMAZACV have been having discussions concerning migratory matters. 2. A. O. TASSI Bradley, and Lov N. N. KOV, first secretly arranged to meet for lunch on 31 October. However, requested resting somewhere other than their usual place since there were strong couples, etc., there, and he didn't like it. However, ZHUYI replied that they would meet "alone" at the usual place. (An article in the 24 November issue of Enquirer listed an A. O. TASSI Bradley as attending the inauguration of an art exhibit by Diego RIVA. A. O. TASSI is believed to be identical with the individual previously reported as (A. O. TASSI Bradley, there is no record in station files on A. O. TASSI.) Mauricio de la SALVA was in contact with KONSTANTY on 22 October. (see HLV-2055) 4. (fmi) MAKO contacted allXIMAOV on 23 October and suggested that they get together for a chat and a drink. They arranged to meet that afternoon in the old place. 5. On 27 October 1815 (probably 1816) called David Alvarez, son of Mexican Coinist artist David Alvarez. On 26 October 1820 was in contact with Hatvey P. I20.67 of the Soviet Financial Office (see A.21-2062). 6. On 30 October Sergio NURO, leftist journalist, attempted to contact HASTUKEVICH or MADOV. On 27 October he confessed with HASTUKEVICH (see p. 245). ## C. \ Encellaneous Contactes 1. On 20 October Lic. (am) XXXC Lajia contested hereby of the Commercial Office on behalf of Lic. Lajia in about the Bogonoletz serum. 2. On 20 October HISTORICAL attempted to call registered with Sotonator, indicating that I had left a visiting card at his name.
