This Central Intelligence Agency personality file on Soviet official Nikolay Sergeyevich Leonov (201-132139), with material dated 1953 to 1963, compiles cables, FBI documents, surveillance reports, press photos and passport copies. It records his Soviet Embassy service in Mexico City, the finding of his calling card in Fidel Castro's address book in 1956, and his role as Castro's interpreter in the USSR in 1963. A source identified him as a KGB officer, and a DIA item alleged he was planning Latin American insurgency.

LINACCV replied that they expected to have some in a few months, but did not have any at the moment. 8. One Zita Vasich de GUISSI was in contact with Vladimir in MIDLUYEN, second January, on 3 October concerning an amoule (of Segmentate) he had for her. He indicated that this one was free, but in case he needed more there were six other amoules for sale in Mexico and the would cost seventy-five pesos each. (Coronets the callor is the wife of Federico GUISSI, pre-Coronets artist.) 5: Jose R. 2015, non-executive writer, Add. (fmr) / 03, a lawyer. Visited Company during the month of October. 6. (Kus) Rosario St. St. St. journalist, accepted an invitation from KOLCYKOT to a consult party at the Soviet Embassy on 8 October. (Current St. St. St. is known to be pro-Communist.) 7. On 12 October Dr. Asides of the Society of Friends of China attempted to contact Mr. WILSON concerning same pictures. On 19 October Joseph Mendelian Sanchez told Mendelian that he had looked for him as Dudley's concert but had not seen him there. Mendelian went on to say that he had seen an article about a Brazilian man of science who was in the USSR. Mendelian informed him that this man was an American who had been repatriated from Brazil to the USSR. Mendelian indicated that he might be the right person to read his thesis, since he had studied existentialism, spoke Spanish, and was enrolled in the Soviet Academy of Science. Mendelian said the thesis had been sent the months ago, and that they were working on it and would probably send it to the individual mentioned. Josefina ZAHA of the Propaganda Office contacted (inu) LOUCE on 19 October to ascertain if one had issue 9 of the magazine Corunist, but it has not arrived. Corunis is believed to be identical with one of the late SIR T HUCI, who is connected with a shop known as "Godo para el Mino," located at Pte. de Alvarado P-3. S. Corunist is believed to be a Corunist and is frequently in contact with the Greek legation. 10. On 20 October local newspaper, pro-Soviet journalist, arranged to go by the subway to see a newspaper, some articles she had written and wanted to send to Tash, Soviet news agency. ## SECRET 50-4-1-303
