Sighting of Unconventional Flying Object

3. About 45-90 degrees to the left of the point at which I first saw the object, were two white lights which appeared to be aerial lights. These were visible, one of which was directed parallel to the ground, the other scanned to cross it directed toward the ground. They did not move and apparently were used for ground illumination.

4. The object which I saw could not have been either a rodent or a macile; there we see a dark light remaining to definitely see a forest however, it is insufficient to distinguish a specific configuration. The slowly revolving light must have been related to its propulsion as it cannot revolving at the end of the vertical movement and remained in a fixed position to the rear of its direction of movement when it was swiftly toward us. I cannot estimate the time it was in sight but it was very short. My impression was that it runs nearly vertically in the point where its movement changed to horizontal with a slight rounding off at the point of intersection of the two lines.

5. Our itinerary included a trip from one to the next in that order. We arranged our reservations for the entire trip but seemed to have difficulty because schools were being charged. I believe our schedule called for departure from half at about 2:00 in on 4 Oct 55 but upon resuming there we were informed that our train would not leave until later. We departed about 6:00 o'clock in on were placed in the car which had six compartments with two beds in each compartment. Collector's comment:

The incident described in this report was observed by four persons. CO-50229 contains the description of one of the group, two others' observations are described below. (The fourth person who first saw the object has not been mentioned.) The estimated time of departure from main seems to be an error as it is approximately 56 miles from the point of observation of this object. Three of the sources agree that the average train speed was not in excess of 30 miles per hour but the time required to traverse this distance was in excess of one hour and ten minutes. In earlier time of departure is further indicated by the fact that one of the party took some color photographs in sunlight in just before departure. The alts are on the right side of car, the compartments on the left. The only other compartments of the car were the porter, a general and a civilian about 27 years old. The general retired about 6:30 stating that he had to get off at 2:00 o'clock in the morning. We did not see him again.

6. One of our party had retired to his department at about 6:45, the other two and I remained talking. Until about 7:00 o'clock we travelled parallel to a warrior direction. Ten minutes after turning, as we sat talking the fourth member of our party rushed into the department and said, "I just see a flying saucer!" "Turn off the lights!" One of us turned off the lights and everyone pressed to the window. Someone asked where it was, to which he replied, "I just saw it coming up from over there. Here it is coming again!"

7. I did not see anything immediately but in a second or so I saw what appeared to be two eyes or lights associated with something coming up vertically. I looked to the left and saw a stationary object which resembled a starlight. It had a reddish glow but did not seem to project a beam. I looked back at the moving object which appeared to be moving slowly to the us slightly above the horizon. I could not distinguish any shape or profile but it had one bright light and one dim one in the middle. I could not use very fast, passing over the train. It probably was 6-7 seconds from the time I saw it until it disappeared. There was no sound heard over the noise of the train. I rushed out of the apartment to the window in the corridor on the other side of the car but could see nothing.
