This Central Intelligence Agency intelligence report was disseminated on 10 January 1990 and covers information dated September 1989. It describes the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, including its size, research areas, funding and interest in cooperating with the United States. It notes that the Academy has several organizations that follow the subject of unidentified flying objects and that some scientists consider it a serious problem. The report also covers the Antonov Aircraft Design Bureau and the Kiev Aircraft Factory's shift to making consumer goods.
