This Central Intelligence Agency document, dated March 1959, is a translated press item from the Stockholm newspaper Stockholms-Tidningen of 20 January 1959. It reports that eight reliable persons saw a round object, 6 to 8 meters across with a luminous ring, over Stigsjoe near Haernoesand in Vaesternorrland Province. The object came slowly from the south over Lake Laengsjoen at about 300 meters, gave off reddish yellow light from its underside, and was visible for about three minutes. The incident was reported to military authorities.

The object approached the observers slowly from the south over [Lake] Laengsjoen at a height of about 300 meters. The object was round, 6 to 8 meters in diameter, and surrounded by a luminous ring about two meters wide. The under side of the object emitted a reddish yellow light. It was visible for about three minutes. The incident has been reported to military authorities.
