This Central Intelligence Agency memorandum, dated 9 February 1978, was sent by the Chief of the Minneapolis Office to the Chief of the Domestic Collection Division. It reports that a source, whose name is redacted, saw an odd object coming down in the sky on 27 January 1978. The source thought it might relate to the Soviet satellite that fell in Canada on 24 January. The memo gives no description of the object and says the information would be passed to the Air Force.
