This Central Intelligence Agency release gathers financial records for MKULTRA Subproject 52, with dates running from 1955 to 1964. It includes invoices, certifications, vouchers, receipts, bank statements and expense notebooks for a chemical consultant who was paid to procure and prepare specified chemicals for TSD/BB. The project records describe novel chemicals that could not be obtained through normal channels, among them tetrahydroacridine, dimethyltryptamine and 4-hydroxytryptophan. The documents contain no UFO material.

MEMORANDUM FOR: THE RECORD SUBJECT : MKULTRA Subproject 52 1. Subproject 52 is being instituted as a means whereby may continue to collect botanical specimens of special interest to the Chemical Division. C2. maintains the fiction that the botanical specimens that he collects are for his own use since his field of interest is natural product chemistry. In order for C to continue to obtain the required specimens without jeopardizing his cover, it will be necessary for him to follow his established procurement procedures. These are detailed in the attached memorandum of agreement. 3. It is estimated that the cost of this program will be $2000.00 for a period of one year. To this must be added $80.00 representing a four percent service charge of the bringing the total cost to $2080.00. Charges should be made against Allotment 6-2502-10-001.
