This is an unclassified FBIS London cable of 15 April 1990, relayed by the Joint Staff and released by the CIA in August 1997. It translates a TASS report citing the newspaper Rabochaya Tribuna on nightly UFO sightings 47 km along the Yaroslavl highway outside Moscow since 12 March. Witnesses described shining spheres and discs, pineapple-like objects, triangular shapes and basin-shaped craft that moved silently and could stop suddenly. The report says several hundred local people saw the objects.

AND THE THIRD GROUP ARE LIKE UPSIDE-DOWN BASINS, 12-15 NETRES ACROSS. THE WHOLE HULLS OF THE OBJECTS FLARE UP, AND AS THE GLOW FADES THEY SHIMMER AND FLICKER WITH IRIDESCENT FLAMES.
