This CIA foreign documents report, distributed 20 August 1953, gives the full text of a Stockholm Morgon-Tidningen article from 13 July 1953. It says Danish defense authorities take flying saucers seriously. A Danish Air Force Command report based on radar observations suggests the objects could come from a Soviet base on Novaya Zemlya. The report cites a 12 November 1952 sighting by Karup Airfield personnel and Norwegian sightings at Horten and near Bodø.

recently in northern Norway, when the crew of an anti-aircraft battery outside of Bodø observed a mysterious object at a great height. A jet plane was sent up, but it was not able to reach the object, which disappeared at a terrific speed. The report of the Danish Air Force Command emphasizes that the "flying saucer traffic" over Scandinavia seems to be a fact of great aerotechnical interest. - END - ___.
