This Central Intelligence Agency information report (No. 00-W-25291), distributed 9 February 1953, compiles unevaluated French-language newspaper items published from July to November 1952. It covers sightings over Dakar, Oran, Algiers, Corsica and the Algerian coast. It also describes a formation of 16 disks seen by about 100 residents of Gaillac, Tarn, who reported falling glass-wool-like particles. The Algerian weather bureau chief attributed the Algiers sightings to weather balloons. The report ends with Rudolf Schriever's West German patent application for a flying saucer.

The inventor claimed that the craft, equipped with motors, has a diameter of 40 meters and can rise and descend vertically or remain motionless in the air. He estimated its maximum speed as 4,000 kilometers per hour.
