This Central Intelligence Agency item for the Director's Log, signed by Richard D. Drain, Secretary of the Intelligence Advisory Committee, reports that Federal Civil Defense Administration Administrator Peterson wrote the IAC on 18 April. His letter concerned the report of a panel of scientific consultants on unidentified flying objects, which had been sent to FCDA on 13 March under IAC-D-67. Peterson expressed interest and proposed a conference. The matter was referred to OSI to arrange CIA assistance.

Kal. 40cm 4/20. ## ITEM FOR DIRECTOR'S LOG The Administrator of the Federal Civil Defense Administration has written the Secretary of the IAC, under date of 18 April, respecting the report of a panel of scientific consultants on the subject of unidentified flying objects. This report was furnished FCDA under letter of 13 March pursuant to IAC-D-67 (18 February). Administrator Peterson reports his interest in the subject and suggests that a conference be arranged for a full discussion on a mutually satisfactory date. The correspondence has been referred to OSI, the Office initiating the original report. OSI will work-out arrangements with RCDA to provide assistance might be provided by CIA. Richard D.
