This is volume 1 of Autos Findos 908/1997, a military police inquiry (IPM No. 18/97) opened on 29 January 1997 by the commander of the Brazilian Army's Escola de Sargentos das Armas in Três Corações. The inquiry targeted the book "Incidente em Varginha" by Vitório Pacaccini and Maxs Portes, which an officer said spread false claims harmful to the Armed Forces. The volume includes a May 1996 sindicância in which soldiers testified that nothing unusual happened when EsSA trucks traveled to Varginha for routine maintenance, along with pages copied from the book.

E como nada mais disse nem lhe foi perguntado, deu o encarregado desta sindicância por findo o presente depoimento, o qual lido e achado conforme, vai devidamente assinado por esse oficial sindicante e pela testemunha.
