This Internet Archive upload holds declassified Canadian records sent to the National Research Council's Meteor Centre, which filed them as non-meteoritic sightings. Most are RCAF and Canadian Forces message reports from 1965 on lights and objects seen over Vancouver, Toronto, Sydney, Cochrane, Whitehorse and other places. The later material dates from 1968. It includes RCMP reports from Shediac and Sydney Mines. The police concluded the Sydney Mines object that hit power lines was probably a meteorite.

M.W.Gorey 431 Blythe Ave., Nanaimo,B.C. March11,1968. Mr.A.F.McQuarrie Gonzales Observatory Dear Sir: Further to our conversation at my home I would like to submit the following information. I wrote to the Research Council and was told that they had no information or equipment at their disposal for me to use, but suggested that I contact the Vancouver Branch of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada as they felt certain that they would be able to assist me in this matter. This I have now done and will wait for their reply. When we last met I told you that I had two sightings on film that were taken over Nanaimo at night around the 9th of October. These were developed by Dakin's studio here, but required special carriers to be made for the enlarger. While attempting to clean the negatives after inserting them into the carriers I apparently erased the image on the emulsion. The drawings enclosed are approximately what was shown on the negatives but about 1/50th that size. The next sighting was made by A.Hulse and wife of 591 Hamilton Ave., Nanaimo at 0650 hours November 21/67. "A huge green glowing ball by the Rangers tower up on Mt.Benson. About the same shade of green as a neon sign green. It remained motionless for about ten minutes and then simply vanished from sight.Both Mr.Hulse and his wife were very frightened by it's appearance and disappearance. The photo I am enclosing was made by myself with a f 1.2 camera I made and was taken at 21:20 hours Jan.20/68 I hope the enclosed sketch will be explanation enough.
