8,000 pages of Declassified Canadian UFO Documents

Internet Archive · 2015-12-10 · 300 pages · text by GLM-OCR

This Internet Archive upload holds declassified Canadian records sent to the National Research Council's Meteor Centre, which filed them as non-meteoritic sightings. Most are RCAF and Canadian Forces message reports from 1965 on lights and objects seen over Vancouver, Toronto, Sydney, Cochrane, Whitehorse and other places. The later material dates from 1968. It includes RCMP reports from Shediac and Sydney Mines. The police concluded the Sydney Mines object that hit power lines was probably a meteorite.

Mr. A. F. McQuarrie Officer in Charge Department of Transport Weather Office Gonzales Observatory Victoria, British Columbia

Dear Mr. McQuarrie:

Thank you for your letter of March 14. I will acknowledge Mr. Corey's observation. His photograph looks like a typical star trail to me but there may have been some other origin for the light. I will make some suitable comments in my reply to him.

Please note that my address is simply:

Dr. Peter M. Millman National Research Council Ottawa 7. Ontario

We have just recently taken on the responsibility for filing and cataloguing all reports of sightings in the sky that come to the Government. Apart from the fireball and meteor reports, we do not solicit unidentified object reports and we only investigate reports that seem to be of scientific interest.

Sincerely yours,

0241

Peter M. Millman
