This Internet Archive upload holds declassified Canadian records sent to the National Research Council's Meteor Centre, which filed them as non-meteoritic sightings. Most are RCAF and Canadian Forces message reports from 1965 on lights and objects seen over Vancouver, Toronto, Sydney, Cochrane, Whitehorse and other places. The later material dates from 1968. It includes RCMP reports from Shediac and Sydney Mines. The police concluded the Sydney Mines object that hit power lines was probably a meteorite.

## ACK. A description of an unusual flying phenomena given by Mr. Emerson Smith of Brooklyn, N. S. In October he, with two companions, was travelling west about 10:30 p.m. on a country road between Liverpool and Middle parallel to the highway. This was a scenic drive along the Mersey River. The night was very clear and starlit. At the point marked X Mr. Smith and his friends sighted the object which he described to/ me as follows: "It was large and orange-yellow, spherical like the moon or setting sun, and was surrounded by a paler halo of light. It was above the horizon about a distance ten times its diameter. It changed color from orange-yellow to yellow. We watched it for about ten minutes during which time it sank steadily towards the horizon, finally disappearing. The most remarkable thing was the streak of oblong light it left (like an eraser mark) for about a minute."
